According to the results of seven months of 2023, Russia became the third supplier of tourists to the Seychelles and already the second in July. From January to July, 23 329 tourists came to the Seychelles from the Russian Federation.

The program of tours with direct flights to the Seychelles was announced by the tour operator Biblio-Globus. Tours can be offered starting from October, 04.

Citizens of Russia are in the first place in terms of the number of arrivals. They visited the Seychelles 3 688 times. Compared to the pre-crisis January 2022, the number of trips of Russians to the Seychelles in January 2023 decreased by a third.

Aeroflot Airlines has opened the sale of tickets from Sheremetyevo to the Seychelles for the spring-summer season. According to the carrier's booking system, the flight program will begin on March 29.

Despite the fact that there are no direct flights to the Seychelles, the depreciation of the dollar against the ruble and the emergence of affordable options for flights with Arab airlines led to an increase in sales to the Seychelles.

Totally, only 1 953 Russians flew to the Seychelles in March, which is 55% less than in February. As a result, in March, Russia dropped from the first to the 5th line in the list of the main source markets for the Seychelles.

In 2021, Russia became No. 1 among source markets for the Seychelles (for the first time in the history of tourism in this country). According to the results of 2021, the Russians made 31 392 tourist visits to the Seychelles.

From January 1 to September 30, 19 644 Russian tourists arrived in the Seychelles, while for the same time in 2019 – 8 431. Thus, the increase of Russian tourist traffic is 133% compared to the pre-covid period.

In 2021, Russian tourists massively fell in love with resorts for the rich, the demand for vacations in the Maldives and Seychelles has grown significantly.

Aeroflot returns to the islands after 17 years of absence. The airline has announced a new non-stop frequency from its Moscow hub to the Seychelles islands, beginning May 1, 2021.

Aeroflot Airlines will operate regular flights to the Seychelles (Mahe Island) from April 2, 2021.

According to the results of 2018, the flow of tourists to Seychelles from Russia fell by 13.8%. The dynamics of the beginning of this year are also negative. Nevertheless, tour operators believe that in 2019 the country will stabilize demand for Seychelles in the organized segment. 

Seychelles Tourism Authority (STB) released statistics on tourist arrivals for the first half of 2018. The figures for the Russian tourist flow show a serious decline (- 17%). According to Seychelles National Bureau of Statistics, Seychelles hosted 167,381 foreign tourists from January 1 till June 24, which is 2% more than in the same period in 2017 (164,866 tourists).

The agreement between the Russian government and the government of the Republic of Seychelles waiving visa requirements for short-term trips by citizens of both countries, which was signed in Victoria, Seychelles, on September 2, 2015, will enter into effect on December 14.
