There is a steady demand on the Seychelles destination. This conclusion of tour operators is based on the fact of good sales of winter, including New Year's tours to the Seychelles.
Experts say that the Seychelles, of course, as before, are not a country of "mass demand" among Russians. But what has been happening in the past two years with the Russian tourist flow to this island state suggests that the Russians are truly interested in the tours to the Seychelles.
So, according to the results of 2021, for the first time in the history of Russian tourism, Russia became the number 1 of source markets for the Seychelles with an indicator of 31,4 thousand tourists, which is 52,4% higher than in 2019.
In 2022, the positive trend continued. According to official Seychelles statistics, from January 1 to December 02, 2022, 26 408 Russians had holidays in the Seychelles. The obtained values allowed Russia to take the third place in terms of tourist flow among all countries.
In October, Aeroflot launched direct flights from Moscow to Mahe twice a week. In connection with the launch of direct flights to Mahe, the tour operator Space Travel immediately increased sales by 30%.
New Year's Seychelles were in high demand among Russians. In the tour operator Russian Express, the volume of bookings exceeded the data for the same period in 2019 by 8 times. “Sales were active both for the New Year and for tours in January-February,” the Russian Express said.
Tour operators arrange tours to the Seychelles on direct flights of Aeroflot, as well as on connecting flights of Emirates, Qatar Airways, etc.
“If earlier the majority of tourists did not even consider the Seychelles due to their high price, now tourists, who are not ready to pay too much for a vacation, allow themselves to buy sometimes tours to the Seychelles,” says a representative of a travel agency from Moscow.
Tourists can buy a week-long tour (with a flight) to the Seychelles from Fun&Sun for $ 4 140 – 4 500 for two persons. And Tez Tour offers a weekly tour (with a flight) to the Seychelles at least for $ 3 906 for two to a 3* hotels with breakfast. Hotels 4-5* with breakfast are more expensive - from $ 7 105 for two.
As a rule, tourists in the Seychelles choose 4-5* category hotels for their accommodation.
