In 2021, tourist flow from Russia to Seychelles has broken a historical record

According to the National Bureau of Statistics of the Seychelles, from January 1 to September 30, 19 644 Russian tourists arrived in the Seychelles, while for the same time in 2019 – 8 431. Thus, the increase of Russian tourist traffic is 133% compared to the pre-covid period.

This is a historical record for the Russian tourist flow to the Seychelles. Previously, the annual tourist flow from the Russian Federation here never exceeded 13 thousand people. Moreover, Russia for the first time became number 1 on the Seychelles inbound tourism market in 2021.

For comparison, the UAE is now in the second place after Russia in terms of the number of arrivals to the Seychelles (16 038 tourists from January 1 to September 19, an increase compared to 2019 is negative: -17%). And Israel is in the third place with 8 564 tourist (an increase is 190% compared to 2019).

"The average depth of bookings in the Seychelles is about 30 days. Compared to the Maldives, there are fewer last minute bookings of this destination. The main sales of tours are for November period, which is about 70% of the total number of requests," confirms Olga Balandina, deputy general director of the tour operator Space Travel.

Tour operators say that this year in the Seychelles tourists choose mainly 5* and 5* Deluxe hotels. As a rule, preference is given to hotels of well-known international brands, HB is preferred.

Nowadays, Pac Group operator offers tours to the Seychelles with the average price about 2 500 – 3 000 Euros per person.

In Russian Express the average price for a tour in November for 2 tourists for 10 days at 5* hotels with a flight to the Seychelles is approximately 4 000-5 000 Euros.
