Aeroflot returns direct flights to Seychelles
Starting October 2, Aeroflot will resume flights to the Seychelles (they were suspended for technical reasons since May 2023). Until October 26, flights will be operated twice a week - on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and from October 28, another frequency will appear - on Mondays. The airline will serve the route with Airbus A350 liner in a three-class layout: economy, comfort, business.
Direct flights traditionally contribute to the interest of tourists, but all the experts interviewed agree that Aeroflot flights are one of the drivers of demand, but do not generate interest in the destination.
«Aeroflot's direct flights are popular, but Emirates and Ethiopian Airlines traditionally hold the bulk of passenger traffic. They currently remain the leaders in bookings», - tour operator Fun & Sun noted.
«After the announcement of the resumption of flights, we traditionally expect an increase in requests, but for now our tourists are mostly opting for connecting flight options. We expect that as the winter season approaches, demand for tours with direct flights will grow», - tour operator Anex believes.
Large multi-profile tour operators report stable interest in the destination, regardless of direct flights. The average booking depth for tours to the Seychelles is quite high - from two to five months depending on the company, the maximum reaches six months.
«We are currently receiving requests for the nearest dates, for the New Year holidays, as well as for January-February 2026», - ITM group noted.
