Russian tourist flow to the Seychelles increased by 36%
According to the results of seven months of 2023, Russia became the third supplier of tourists to the Seychelles and already the second in July.
As the national bureau of statistics of this country said, 201 028 tourists arrived in the Seychelles for the seven months of 2023 (January-July), which is 7% more than during the same period in 2022.
In terms of tourist traffic for 7 months of 2023, Germany (26 540 visits, + 15% compared to the same period in 2022) and France (25 406 arrivals, - 0,8%) are leading.
Russia is in the third place in absolute numbers and the country has a significant increase in the TOP-5 source markets. From January to July, 23 329 tourists came to the Seychelles from the Russian Federation. This is as much as 36% more than for the seven months of 2022 (17 139).
Such a significant increase is largely due to the low base effect (the lack of direct flights for some part of 2022). Nevertheless, the success is obvious: Russia, in terms of the monthly number of tourists, has already confidently reached the level of 2021, the most productive year for the Seychelles on tourist flow from Russia.
Aeroflot now operates direct flights to the Seychelles. Some Russian tourists fly to the islands with connections in Arab countries or Ethiopia.
Tours to the Seychelles for a week in September 2023 in popular 4* hotels with breakfast cost from $ 2 600 for two persons, depending on the type of flight (a direct flight is now a little cheaper, but not always). The price for the same tour on AI starts from $ 3 640 for two.
