Russian tourist flow to the Seychelles increased in 2021
According to the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of the Seychelles, at the end of 2021, 182 849 tourist arrivals of foreigners were recorded in this state. This is 59,2% more than in 2020, but also 52,4% less than in pre-Covid 2019.
In 2021, Russia became No. 1 among source markets for the Seychelles (for the first time in the history of tourism in this country). According to the results of 2021, the Russians made 31 392 tourist visits to the Seychelles. This is 17% of the total foreign tourist flow to the Seychelles. That is every sixth tourist here last year was from the Russian Federation (for comparison, in 2019 the share of Russians was only 3,2%).
On the second line in terms of tourist flow to the Seychelles in 2021 is the UAE (21 699 visits), on the third is France (18 425), on the fourth is Germany (17 673), and on the fifth is Israel (10 551). Before the pandemic, Russia was in the 6th-7th place in the TOP-10.
Prior to this, the largest number of arrivals of Russian tourists to the Seychelles was recorded in 2014 (14 800 people).
