Royal Jordanian opens sales for direct Moscow–Aqaba flights
Royal Jordanian has opened ticket sales for direct flights from Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport to Aqaba, Jordan, with the first service scheduled for December 20, 2026. The launch was previously planned for November 15. The flights will be operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft in a single-class layout with 177 seats. Journey time will be approximately five hours, and services will run twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays. This info was published on ATOR web-site.
At the initial stage, tickets for the direct flights are available for booking through the airline’s Moscow representative office and closed agency systems. Ticket aggregators and Royal Jordanian’s official website are still offering connecting flights via Amman. Booking systems used by tour operators also currently show tours with connections through Amman, priced from RUB 130,000 for two people for a week’s stay in a 4-star hotel with breakfast.
Tour operators are already working on forming seat blocks on the new Royal Jordanian direct flights. ICS Travel Group and Russian Express have announced plans for such blocks, while the airline said negotiations with other tour operators are still ongoing.
Speaking at an event in Moscow in September 2026, Royal Jordanian Commercial Director Arwa Mahadin said the carrier is considering expanding its route network from Russia in the future by adding Kazan, Yekaterinburg and other cities. Tour operators are awaiting the start of direct flights, saying they will stimulate demand, which is currently moderate with slight growth.
Since December 13, 2025, Russian citizens have been able to visit Jordan visa-free for up to 30 days per trip, with total stays not exceeding 90 days in a calendar year.
