Over the three quarters of 2023, the outbound flow from Russia amounted to 21 020 012 people, which is 12,4% higher compared to the same period in 2022.

The most popular destinations where tourists and vacationers often book tours on the eve of the New Year are the UAE, Turkey, Thailand, Egypt and the Russian Federation. Sometimes Sri Lanka is included in the TOP of the most popular destinations.

Turkey is one of the popular New Year destinations in the sales of Russian tour operators. In terms of current demand, the country is in the TOP 5, occupying from 6% to 17% of New Year's sales from different companies, after the UAE, Egypt, Thailand and, in some cases, Russia.

In the summer of 2023, the organized outbound tourist flow from Russia increased by 15% compared to the same period in 2022.

50% of Russians plan to travel in the regions of the Russian Federation during the New Year holidays, and 30% will go to Moscow and St. Petersburg. Another 15% choose warm countries for their New Year's holiday, such as Thailand, the UAE, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.

New tours with guaranteed flights on daily Emirates flights from Moscow to Dubai have appeared in Anex booking system for the autumn-winter season. The tour operator takes guaranteed blocks of seats on Emirates flights from 30.09.2023 to 12.05.2024.

The share of Russian tourists in UAE hotels reaches 25-35% this summer. Based on the results of the summer season of 2023, market participants believe that the Russian tourist flow to the UAE will beat its last year record.

The UAE is now the second most popular destination among Russian tourists. This is despite the fact that traditionally this resort is considered as winter one.

In the summer of 2023, the Emirates can repeat the success of last year on the Russian market and accept up to 20% of the annual tourist flow from Russia. The leader among the emirates of the UAE among Russian tourists in the summer, as well as in the winter season, is Dubai.

A multiple change in the demand of tourists for the summer was recorded by Russian tour operators. While prices are rising in Turkey, previously more expensive destinations, such as Thailand, Sri Lanka and even the Maldives, are beginning to “equal” with this destination. And Turkey continues to lose its positions due to inflated prices and problems with air transportation.

Instead of Turkey, Russian tourists can go to the UAE, Thailand and even the Maldives - prices for hotels there in summer are even cheaper than Turkish ones.

The tour operator Space Travel began to operate the summer flight program to the UAE from May 19. The program will last until September 14. Tour operators note that thanks to the development of resort infrastructure, the destination becomes truly year-round.

Dubai and the UAE as a whole have become a year-round destination for the Russian market, including due to attractive summer prices and more expensive Turkey.
