Outbound organized tourist flow from Russia increased by 15%
In the summer of 2023, the organized outbound tourist flow from Russia increased by 15% compared to the same period in 2022.
“The situation in outbound tourism turned out to be more complicated than in domestic tourism. The demand was wave-like, influenced by transportation volumes, foreign political events, and, of course, the “jumping” exchange rate of the ruble,” the head of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze reported.
The representative of ATOR clarified that in outbound tourism over the year, Turkey, the UAE, Egypt and Thailand are steadily leading.
As for organized domestic tourism, the average increase reaches 17% compared to the 2022 season and there are areas and destinations where growth is 20%.
The most popular destinations are the Krasnodar Territory (it will be the leader in the coming winter), St. Petersburg and Moscow.
