The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has issued an official summary of the situation in Bangkok following the March 28 earthquake northwest of Chiang Mai province.

Travel agents drew attention to the appearance of low prices for tours to Thailand in January. The price reduction here by 20-30% is a short-term phenomenon, typical only for some departure dates and caused by a slight decrease in demand.

Turkey will account for a third of all Fun&Sun sales in 2024. In the second and third places in the list of the company’s key destinations are Egypt and the UAE.

Russia is in the 5-th place in terms of entry into the Kingdom, and in the ranking of non-Asian countries that supply tourists, the country is the leader. According to Thai statistics, Thailand received 177 412 Russians in November, for three months of autumn – 354 932 Russians.

The shares of destinations in December were distributed as follows: Egypt - 26%, UAE - 19%, Thailand - 18%, Turkey - 8% and Russia - 6%. Next in the list of interests among aggregator users are Sri Lanka and Cuba (5% each), the Maldives with 3%, India and Vietnam with 2%.

Over the three quarters of 2023, the outbound flow from Russia amounted to 21 020 012 people, which is 12,4% higher compared to the same period in 2022.

Demand for Thailand among Russians continues to show positive dynamics, showing monthly growth. In October – plus 30% compared to September data. The main demand is for Phuket.

The most popular destinations where tourists and vacationers often book tours on the eve of the New Year are the UAE, Turkey, Thailand, Egypt and the Russian Federation. Sometimes Sri Lanka is included in the TOP of the most popular destinations.

The flight program to Phuket from Tomsk provides flights departing once every 12 days. On its basis tour packages with duration of 11 or 23 nights are arranged. There will also be charter flights from Tomsk to Pattaya once every 10 nights.

Turkey is one of the popular New Year destinations in the sales of Russian tour operators. In terms of current demand, the country is in the TOP 5, occupying from 6% to 17% of New Year's sales from different companies, after the UAE, Egypt, Thailand and, in some cases, Russia.

In the summer of 2023, the organized outbound tourist flow from Russia increased by 15% compared to the same period in 2022.

50% of Russians plan to travel in the regions of the Russian Federation during the New Year holidays, and 30% will go to Moscow and St. Petersburg. Another 15% choose warm countries for their New Year's holiday, such as Thailand, the UAE, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.

Thailand extended the period of visa-free stay for Russians to 60 days, the extension will cost Russian citizens $51.

The high demand for holidays in Thailand in the winter season among residents of different cities of the Russian Federation requires increasing of transportation volumes from tour operators. Flight programs from 13 regions of Russia have already been announced for the winter season.

In September, Russians took the first place in the number of tourists arriving by air to the Thai island of Phuket. Russians topped the list of arrivals to Phuket with figure of 40,2 thousand.

In the winter season 2023/2024, Pegas Touristik tourists will be able to fly to 6 countries on direct charter flights, as well as on regular flights, on boards of which the tour operator has taken blocks of seats. Three destinations, according to forecasts, will become driving routes in the winter season.

A new combined tour to 2 countries of Southeast Asia was announced by the tour operator Biblio Globus from November, 02. The tour program lasts 10 days. It includes one night in Bangkok upon arrival and one night before departure to Moscow, as well as a vacation on the island of Bali.

The flow of tourists to Thailand from Russia should exceed a million by the end of September. By the end of the year, the Kingdom expects to receive more than 1,2 million.

The tour operator Tez Tour has opened sales of tours to a new island in Thailand - Khao Lak, located 60 kilometers from Phuket airport.

In the winter season, leading tour operators with strong positions on Thai destination - Anex, Coral Travel, Fun&Sun, Intourist - as last year, will share charter flights of Azur air and Red Wings.
