The share of Russian tourists in UAE hotels reaches 25-35% this summer

Local hoteliers and representatives of the tourist market in Russia reported that the share of Russian tourists in UAE hotels reaches 25-35% this summer. Based on the results of the summer season of 2023, market participants believe that the Russian tourist flow to the UAE will beat its last year record.

The growth of demand from the Russian market is provided by several factors at once:
- hoteliers give summer discounts and promotions,
- the geography and volume of transportation between the Russian Federation and the UAE have practically remained at the level of the winter season,
- rise in price of Turkey.

Travel agents say that now the cost of a tour to the UAE can be up to 20% cheaper than the same tour to Turkey. At the same time, the level of service in the Emirates at such hotels is often higher.

On average, the occupancy of hotels in the Emirates this summer reaches 70%. Such high figures for the summer are provided both by the growth of the tourist flow from Russia, and, for example, by the resumption of the tourist flow from China, which was previously closed due to the pandemic.

It should be noted that traditionally the main summer tourist flow to the UAE in summer is from the Persian Gulf countries and India. This summer, the Russians can compete with them.
