Tour operators have evacuated almost all Russian tourists from Israel and Iran
Almost all tourists from Russia who expressed their desire to leave Iran and Israel after the escalation of the conflict between the countries have already been evacuated or will be sent to Russia in the coming days. Information about this was published on the official website of the Russian Union of Travel Industry on June 18.
According to the estimates of the ATOR Analytical Service, there may currently be about a dozen tourists in Israel through tour operators. At the same time, tour operators note that the depth of sales to Israel and Iran was small.
Air traffic in Israel is currently suspended. The only way to leave the country is by land – through border crossings with Egypt and Jordan, the Russian Embassy in Israel reported.
The Menachem Begin/Taba border crossing on the border with Egypt operates around the clock. There are three checkpoints on the border with Jordan: Northern (Jordan River/Sheikh Hussein Bridge), Central (Allenby/King Hussein Bridge) and Southern (Yitzhak Rabin/Wadi Araba). According to the checkpoint, the Northern one operates from 9:00 to 16:00, the Central one - from 8:00 to 14:00, the Southern one - from 8:00 to 20:00. The Russian diplomatic mission recommends checking the latest information about the work of the border crossings before traveling.
At the same time, the Russian embassy in Israel announced the possibility of organizing medical evacuation for people with limited mobility: bedridden patients and patients who require evacuation by medical transport for medical reasons. It is carried out free of charge.
In accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, tour operators have suspended the sale of tourist products to Israel «until the situation normalizes».
