Visa abolition between Russia and Jordan: what will be the effect on mutual tourist flows
The order on concluding an agreement on the abolition of the visa regime with Jordan on a reciprocal basis was signed on May 27 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. According to the document, the new rules establish a visa-free regime for trips up to 30 days, while in total it will be possible to stay in the country for up to 90 days per year. The Russian Foreign Ministry has been instructed to hold negotiations with Jordan and sign this agreement on behalf of the Russian government.
Reference: At the moment, Russians receive a visa on arrival in Jordan, its cost is about 60 USD. And Jordanian citizens can now apply for electronic tourist visas to enter Russia.
As noted by Russian tour operator Intourist, any relaxation of visa rules has a positive effect on the development of tourism. The introduction of a mutual visa-free regime with Jordan will certainly generate a surge of interest in the destination and stimulate the growth of bookings for holidays in this country on the Red Sea, as well as excursion tours during the high season.
