Large-scale camel expedition of Russian traveler Fyodor Konyukhov's has ended in the UAE. In about two weeks, the 72-year-old traveler crossed all the Emirates
The first ever Russian-Arab camel expedition has ended in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It was attended by traveler Fyodor Konyukhov and team. This is stated on Konyukhov's official website.
The team members set off on a trip from the Al Ain suburb of Abu Dhabi on January 27. In two weeks, they crossed all seven emirates and completed their journey in the city of Al-Saadi in the emirate of Ras al-Khaimah. At the finish line, the expedition was greeted by Sheikh Sultan bin Ali bin Saif Ali Al Khatib.
Fyodor Konyukhov also shared his impressions calling the camel expedition a "journey through time": "Majestic sand dunes, dry desert wind, endless starry sky — all this sets up thoughts of eternity. I am taking with me new impressions, sketches for future paintings and plans for a large expedition across the entire Arabian Peninsula."
It is worth noting that this is not the first caravan expedition of the 72-year-old traveler. In 2002, he visited Russian Kalmykia, Astrakhan, Dagestan, Stavropol Territory and Volgograd Region on camels.
