There was a significant increase in the number of direct flights from Russia to Cuba, and the tourist flow increased 3,5 times in January-October 2023. During the period from January to October, more than 146 300 tourists from Russia visited the Republic.

The tour operator Anex has announced seven charter destinations for the upcoming winter season. This winter direct charters of Anex will fly to Egypt, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Cuba and Turkey.

The summer flight program of Nordwind Airlines, arranged by the tour operator Pegas Touristik, will continue in the winter season 2023-2024. Blocks of seats on these flights are taken by the tour operators Anex, Intourist and Fun&Sun.

According to the tour operator Anex, group tourists will be able to go to Varadero, Cuba from Moscow on Nordwind flights. Direct flights will be operated 4 times a week from Sheremetyevo Airport. The flight program will run from November 2023 to March 2024.

As tour operators report, the interest of Russian tourists in the Cuban destination is high even in summer. Thanks to the launch of regular flights to Varadero, tour operators have expanded the product range for the Caribbean destination.

Russia entered the TOP-5 inbound tourism markets for Cuba. 67 600 tourist arrivals from Russia were registered in the country in January-June. This is 45% more than in the same period last year.

Cuba expects to accept about 100 000 Russian tourists, more than twice as many as last year. From July 1, 2023, direct flights of Rossiya airline, Aeroflot's subsidiary, flew to Cuba in Varadero.

The tour operator Anex Tour announced the opening of sales of tours to Cuba for the summer season and the extension of the flight program. Package offers are based on blocks of seats on Nord Wind flights from 17.05.2023 to 30.10.2023.

Fun&Sun will fly to Cuba. The flight program has been announced since May 17 until October 30, and then the tour operator plans to start its winter version. Three flights per week are promised on the Nord Wind airline on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The tour operator Pegas Touristik has extended the flight program from Moscow to Cuba for the summer 2023. As in the current winter season, the tour operator in partnership with Nordwind will continue to fly to two destinations - Varadero and Cayo Coco.

54,4 thousand tourists came from Russia to Cuba in 2022, which is almost 70% less than a year earlier, when the tourist flow amounted to 175 thousand people. The interest for the destination on the Russian market is high, but the lack of transportation prevents an increase of the tourist flow.
