Tour operator Intourist announced the opening of sales of tours to Cuba, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

Visa-free negotiations are currently underway between Russia and such countries as the Bahamas, Barbados, Haiti, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, as well as Saint Lucia.

Anex-Tour offered tours for Russian tourists to the Mexican resort of Cancun. The declared route is still the same - with the support of Turkish carriers through Istanbul.

The closure of the airspace of the United States will jeopardize the evacuation of Russian tourists from the Caribbean, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.

Egypt became the leader of the winter season 2021-2022 among organized tourists. At the same time, Russian resorts were in the second place, displacing Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

Sales of tours to Mexico for the summer season 2022 were announced by the tour operator Anex Tour. Package tours have been arranged for the summer season based on the flight program of Azur Air until 30.10.2022.

In 2014, 77,5 thousand Russian citizens arrived in the country. It was provided by the charter programs of Russian tour operators.

Russian tourists most often buy winter tours on early booking program in Thailand, the UAE and Vietnam. Also the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Cuba are among the leading destinations for Russians in the winter season.

For this winter season the whole flight program to Mexico is 30% bigger than a year ago when there were 11 flights monthly. This year we have 14 flights because of the new flight program of Coral travel’s 3 flights monthly in cooperation with Royal flight air company. Anex Tour and Pegast Touristik operators have the volumes of the previous season. Travel experts explain why the increase of flights number is not influencing the tours’ prices.

Representatives of the tourist retail industry have noted the increased attractiveness of holidays in the Caribbean among Russian tourists. Due to the growth of charter transportation and good prices, Cuba has a chance to increase its volumes this winter, and a number of retail’s networks note a high demand for Caribbean countries.

Three Russian tour operators start flight programs to Mexico for the winter season. Pegast Touristik starts its flight program to Cancun on 27.08.2019 with Nord Wind air company. Coral Travel flies to Cancun with Royal Flight (RL 7581/82) on Boeing 777-300 ER from Vnukovo. Anex Tour flies to Cancun with Azur Air all year round on Boeing 777-300 ER twice a week.

Russian tourism to the state of Quintana Roo has grown by 40 percent over the last two years, local news outlet La Verdad reported citing local tourism authorities. Russia’s honorary consul in the state, Armina Wolpert, explained that one reason for the growth is the operation of direct flights, adding that a majority of Russian visitors use them to get to Cancun and Riviera Maya.

Russian airline Royal Flight is expected to launch regular flights to Taiwan later this year, the country’s Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) said Sunday, according to the Taipei Times.  The agency said it has received a letter from Russia’s civil aviation authorities designating Royal Flight to offer regular air services to Taiwan, but noted it has yet to receive a flight schedule application from the carrier. 

Mexico in 2018 recorded an increase of Russian tourist traffic by 92%, becoming the “breakthrough of the year” in the Caribbean region. Tour operators extend their charter program to Cancun for the summer, preserving the winter frequencies. As a result, prices for summer Mexico have seriously decreased. 

The seasonal decline in sales in the post-New Year period affected all Caribbean destinations. However, the prices for Mexico fall more than others - for some dates they fall even below the level of more budgetary Cuba. Thus, the minimum cost of a nine-day tour to Mexico with departure from Moscow in the second half of January starts from 85 thousand Rubles (1,125 Euros) for two persons.

he growth of traffic to the Dominican Republic and Cuba, the success of Mexico and the renewal of AZUR airline’s fleet make it possible for the tour operator to reach new destinations in Latin America. The Caribbean region shows a significant increase in bookings this winter season.

“By the end of the year, more than 41 thousand Russian tourists come to Mexico”, said at the tourism office in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. Recall, that such a forecast at the end of December was made by the Ambassador of the United Mexican States, Norma Pensado. However, according to the executive director of the office, Andreas Reynoso, the results may be more impressive.

It is expected in Mexico, that by the end of the year 41 thousand Russian tourists will visit the country - 1.5 times more than in 2017 (27 thousand). It was reported by the Ambassador of the United Mexican States to the Russian Federation Norma Pensado. Such optimistic forecasts are connected with to the return of charters to Mexico.
