The flow of tourists from Russia to Thailand has exceeded 900 thousand people

In Thailand the low season continues, but the Russian tourist flow step by step is moving closer to the mark of 1 million people who came to rest in this country. According to the report of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, for seven months of 2018 the country hosted 900,700 citizens of Russia, which is 16.24% higher than for the same period of 2017. The positive dynamics of the Russian segment was provided by successful January-April period, when the volume of tourist traffic was a quarter higher than last year's indicators and at the same time was significant in absolute figures - an average, about 186 thousand per month (from 126,000 in April to 226,000 in January). For comparison, the tourist flow from Russia in July was only 49.7 thousand people, in June - 48.5 thousand and in May - 57.1 thousand. In financial sphere, tourists from Russia remain one of the most desired for Thailand. The cost of a trip to Thailand for Russian tourists starts from 80 thousand baht per person ($ 2,506). Traditionally, the "low" season in Thailand continues until November, but last year the level of 100 thousand tourists from Russia was exceeded in October. Thus, Russian tourists differ from other markets by large-scale involvement (the first place among non-Asian countries) and high solvency.
