Thailand is the leader in the Asian destinations
On October 29, the representatives of tourist retailers reported the information about the most popular destinations of the beginning of the autumn-winter season.
So, Maria Slughina, the deputy general director of the Last Minute tour agent’s chain, named four destinations that are best sold for the autumn-winter season: Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Dominican Republic and Cuba. “The demand was changed due to the expansion of the geography of departures of several tour operators - for example, Anex Tour now flies to Dominican Republic from Yekaterinburg. Thailand has been stably in demand for many years, while Cuba’s popularity is comparable to last year,” says M. Slughina. She also adds that tourists usually request a tour lasting 11–13 nights.
“The Emirates remain in the spotlight due to the large number of flights not only from Moscow and St. Petersburg, but also from the regions - Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, etc.”, explains Alexan Mkrtchyan, CEO of the Pink Elephant travel agency network. At the moment, Abu Dhabi is on the second line in the list of preferences of Russian tourists, instead Sharjah. Speaking about Thailand, he noted that 60% of those who choose this country fly to Phuket. A. Mkrtchyan has high hopes for China. “If a year ago Goa and Vietnam competed for the third position, this year they can be replaced by Hainan, largely due to increased transportation from the European and Asian parts of Russia. There are many requests for this destination from Khabarovsk, Irkutsk and Novosibirsk,” commented Alexan Mkrtchyan.
In the TBS Group network, Vietnam entered the TOP-3 leaders together with Thailand and the UAE. “At the same time, the number of sold tours to Thailand is twice more the number of sold tours to Vietnam and three times to the UAE,” said Rashad Mammadov, the general director of the TBS Group network.
