Russian carrier Azur Air plans to operate flights from Moscow to five foreign resort destinations during the autumn-winter 2026/2027 schedule, a company representative told journalists. The route network will include Phuket and Pattaya in Thailand, Nha Trang in Vietnam, Hambantota in Sri Lanka, and Male in the Maldives.

Egypt has become the most popular foreign destination for family trips during the autumn school holidays, overtaking Turkey, according to analysts at ATOR.  Thailand, China, Vietnam and the UAE are also in the top ranking, with demand for China growing fastest.  Russia’s main autumn school holidays fall in late October and early November.

Five major Russian tour operators have announced plans for extensive direct flight programs to the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc for the upcoming winter season, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR). The initiative will connect 13 Russian cities to Phu Quoc, which is a prime beach destination during the dry season (from November to April). During this period, the sea is calm, water temperatures reach up to 28°C (82°F), and the island's sandy beaches are considered among the best in Vietnam due to their white sand and gentle slopes into the water. 

Vietnam has seen an unprecedented surge in Russian visitors. In 2025 the country's National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) recorded nearly 690,000 visits from Russia. In the first six months of this year alone, that number exceeded 742,000.  Russia now ranks third among countries sending tourists to Vietnam, behind only China and South Korea.  According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), Vietnam is among the top five destinations for package tour sales from Russia. Flights between Russia and Vietnam resumed in 2024 (after the pandemic) but were limited — tourists had to connect via other countries or fly to Hanoi and then take domestic flights. In 2025, Vietnam Airlines launched direct Moscow–Hanoi flights, Aeroflot started flying to Nha Trang, charter flights also returned, and more routes were opened.

As follows from the data of the Onlinetours package tour booking service, in Russia, the average check for foreign tours in the first half of 2026 increased to 196,500 rubles ($2,500), or by 7% compared to the same period in 2025. The demand for trips abroad increased by 44%. Turkey remained the leader in terms of booking volume, accounting for 31% (compared to 35% in the first half of 2025). The average price for a vacation in this country increased by 14% to 226,900 rubles ($2,900).

Most of the visitors came from China, India, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Cuba. This increase in international tourism has a significant impact on the economy of the city.

According to preliminary forecasts by ATOR analysts, this summer the volume of outbound tourist flow to popular foreign tourist destinations will grow by 24.8% year-on-year.

Tour operators expect a noticeable increase in demand for tours to Vietnam after the launch of Aeroflot’s direct flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam is gaining popularity among Russian tourists. Despite the lack of direct flights to the country, for a number of tour operators sales of tours for the end of autumn and the New Year holidays have increased significantly compared to last year.

The tour operator Fun&Sun has started selling package tours from Moscow to Vietnam for the winter season. The block flight program to Nha Trang is scheduled from November 25, 2023 to March 17, 2024.

From August 15, Russian tourists will be able to stay in Vietnamese resorts for up to 45 days without obtaining a visa. The innovation increases the existing visa-free travel by 3 times.

The tour operator Fun&Sun has offered for sale package tours with a flight to Nha Trang from Moscow and combined excursion tours from Irkutsk: Hanoi - Halong - Nha Trang.

The tour operator Pegas Touristik started selling package tours to the popular Vietnamese resort of Nha Trang on connecting flights from Moscow. On departures from Moscow to Tashkent and back, the package tour includes flights on Utair wings. Aeroflot performs flights from Moscow to Almaty and Astana and back.

Tourists in the summer and autumn seasons will be able to make holidays in Vietnam at affordable prices. The new block program of Paks to Nha Trang starts on May 30 and will last until the end of October. The duration of all tours designed for block transportation is 10 nights.

This year, 1,5 million tourists have holidays with the tour operator Fun&Sun. By the end of 2023, the company plans to send 2,5 million tourists.

The tour operator Fun&Sun has announced the launch of a flight program to the Vietnamese resort of Nha Trang (Cam Ranh Airport). The program involves connecting flights of Scat airline from Moscow.

Programs to Nha Trang from Anex Tour and Pegas Touristik will be arranged on the flights of VietJet Air low-cost airline and will start from Almaty. The start of the flight program is scheduled for October 26.

On March 15, 2022, Vietnam adopted Decree No. 32 / NQ-CP, exempting citizens of 13 countries from the obligation to issue visas. This list includes Russia and Belarus.

Russian vaccinated tourists arriving in Vietnam (Nha Trang resort) will have no longer to undergo a mandatory weekly quarantine at the hotel.

The tour operator Anex Tour announced the launching of a flight program to Vietnam in cooperation with its strategic partner - Azur air. Two weekly flights are planned from December 22 to March 16, 2022, on the route Moscow - Nha Trang.
