Five major Russian tour operators have announced plans for extensive direct flight programs to the Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc for the upcoming winter season, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR). The initiative will connect 13 Russian cities to Phu Quoc, which is a prime beach destination during the dry season (from November to April). During this period, the sea is calm, water temperatures reach up to 28°C (82°F), and the island's sandy beaches are considered among the best in Vietnam due to their white sand and gentle slopes into the water.
Air Companies and Tour Operators
The flights will be carried out by three primary airlines:
- Azur Air
-Vietjet Air
- Ikar.
The winter program will be operated by five leading tour operators: Fun&Sun, Pegas Touristik, Coral Travel, Anex, and Intourist. The tour operator programs are scheduled to begin in late September to early October.
Operator-Airline Breakdown
Fun&Sun has announced the largest charter program for the season. The operator will utilize flights operated by Azur Air and Vietjet Air to serve 13 Russian cities: Moscow, Barnaul, Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Novokuznetsk, Novosibirsk, Samara, Ufa, and Khabarovsk.
Pegas Touristik and Coral Travel have joint program. These two operators will share flights operated by the airline Ikar. Their program includes departures from four cities: Moscow and Yekaterinburg (tours are offered for 13 nights), Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk (tours for 12 nights).
Anex and Intourist will use the Vietjet Air airline for their winter schedule. They will offer tours from nine cities: Barnaul, Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Novokuznetsk, Novosibirsk, Ufa, and Khabarovsk. Package durations for most departure cities are set at 10 nights, with the exception of Novosibirsk, which will offer 7-night tours.
Regular flights
In addition to these charter flights, national carrier Aeroflot has announced it will launch its own direct flights to Phu Quoc, with two weekly flights starting from October 15.
