Russian tourists have already felt the impact of international travel complications to a greater extent than most other Europeans. The tourist flow from Russia to European continent this year has declined sharply.

“Tourism will develop!” - Julia Kuzenskaya, Deputy chair, Committee for Tourism Development of St.Petersburg spoke during the press-conference devoted to development of medical tourism of Petersburg International Health Forum, which took place at Expoforum 26 of October 2022.

Compared with the end of September, the cost of air tickets for flights from Russia to abroad has decreased by 4-10 times, depending on the destination.

Sales of tours abroad by tour operators decreased by 15-30%. About 30% of booked tours of travel companies were canceled.

For the January holidays, travelers most often order flights abroad: the share of foreign destinations increased by 8,6 times compared to the same period last year and amounted to 77,3%.

Conviasa airline plans to launch from October 1 a weekly flight to Porlamar, on Margarita Island. Blocks of seats on this flight will be taken by tour operators Intourist and Tez Tour.

Travel planning service OneTwoTrip found out where Russians would like to go on vacation in July. To do this, the company analyzed the data of air tickets search services with a departure in the middle of summer. Turkey is the most popular destination.

The largest increase among the top 50 popular destinations in spring 2022 was recorded for flights to Vietnam - more than 20 times. Next are India and Israel.
