Anex Tour named popular holiday destinations for St. Petersburg tourists in the summer of 2023

Turkey, Egypt and the UAE top the list of the most popular summer travel destinations for St. Petersburg tourists. Russia is the fourth, Alena Khitrova, deputy head of the department of communications of Anex Tour, told.

The top three leading destinations are followed by tours in Russia. Then are Sri Lanka, Thailand and Abkhazia.

"These are sales for tourists from St. Petersburg. Despite the fact that, unfortunately, there are no direct flights to Sri Lanka and Thailand from St. Petersburg these countries are still in the top 7, because tourists depart from Moscow," Khitrova added.

Compared to the summer of 2022, Kazakhstan and the Maldives disappeared from the top seven, the share of sales to Turkey decreased from 93,2% to 69,7% due to the expansion of Egypt and the UAE, Anex Tour specified.

About 84% of customers traveling to Turkey prefer Antalya, 15% - the resorts of the Aegean Sea (Dalaman and Bodrum) and another 1% - Istanbul.

The average check of a St. Petersburg tourist when booking before July 1 for summer arrivals in Turkey amounted to $ 3 169 in 2023, which is $ 223 lower than last year. That is likely due to the reduction of average stay from 10 to 9 nights, the company believes.

The average price for a tour in Russia in the current year amounted to $ 1 370 ($ 1 052 in 2022), in Abkhazia - $ 1 399. The average price of a tour in the UAE has decreased more than doubled - from $ 4 465 up to $ 1 990. According to Khitrova, this is thanks to flydubai flights from St. Petersburg.
