Citizens of the Russian Federation made 23,2 million foreign trips with all purposes in 2022, of which almost 7 million were tourist trips. This conclusion follows from the statistics of the Border Service of Russia.
Most of these trips occurred in the third quarter of the year – 2,4 million. In the first and second quarters, approximately the same number of tourists went abroad – 1,17 and 1,16 million, respectively. In the fourth quarter - 2,15 million tourists left.
In 2022, Russians actively visited Turkey, the number of arrivals in the country with the purpose of tourism reached 3,7 million.
The second place was taken by the UAE, where citizens of the Russian Federation made 909,7 thousand tourist trips, which is almost twice as much as in 2021 (462,2 thousand).
Egypt closes the TOP-3 countries (761,5 thousand, minus 5%).According to statistics, the top five most popular countries also included Armenia and Thailand: Russians made 295,7 and 171,4 thousand trips there, respectively. The sixth place was taken by Uzbekistan – (131,6 thousand trips). Kazakhstan (113,3 thousand), Maldives (94,5 thousand), Azerbaijan (92,7 thousand) and Dominican Republic (76,1 thousand) ) are the next popular countries.
The total number of trips abroad in 2022 increased by 2 million compared to the previous year. Turkey became the leader among all destinations – 4,8 million trips, followed by Abkhazia (4,2 million). Kazakhstan (2,7 million), the United Arab Emirates (1,2 million) and Egypt (947 thousand.
The TOP-10 also included Georgia (873,4 thousand), Finland (872,9 thousand), Armenia (842,8 thousand), Estonia (678,8 thousand) and Ukraine (471,3 thousand).
