Turkey's sales in Russia have fallen to almost. The reasons for this situation are the increase of prices in rubles for tours to Turkey, the general uncertainty of the Russian market, as well as the increased role of Turkey's competitors.

Turkey expects an increase of the number of tourists from Russia. In 2022, more than 5 million 200 thousand tourists from Russia visited Turkey. Next year, Turkey is counting on 6 million arrivals.

Russia was in the second place in terms of tourist flow to Turkey in 2022 (5 232 611 arrivals). Due to the geopolitical crisis, which led to a reduction of air transportation of Russian airlines, the tourist flow from Russia to Turkey increased by 11,5% in 2021, but still remained 25,4% less than in 2019.

In 2022, Russia took the second place in terms of tourist flow to the Mugla province in Turkey. The number of Russian tourists has grown by 26% compared to 2021.

Turkish ski resort of Erzurum Palandoken announced its hope almost exclusively on Russian tourists. The resort authorities announced a charter program from Russia, which started on December 29 and will last until March 15.

Flights from Moscow's Domodedovo Airport to Kayseri and Erzurum are scheduled to begin on December 28 and 29, respectively. Coral has announced that it will offer Russian tourists ski holidays in Kayseri-Erciyes and Erzurum-Palandoken with Pegasus flights in the winter season 2022/23.

According to the latest data, the Russians will spend the New Year holidays in Turkey. Earlier, Egypt has traditionally been a massive budget winter destination for the New Year for Russians.

Tours to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, as well as to Istanbul and Antalya, are carried out by Biblio-Globus tour operator in partnership with Rossiya airline, i.e. tickets for flights are sold only as part of a tour package.

Pegas Touristik started tours to Istanbul on regular flights Moscow-Istanbul of the airline Ikar. The first flight took off on November 10.

The total number of foreign tourists in Turkey over January-September 2022 almost doubled compared to the same period last year and exceeded 34,8 million. Russia is the second with 3,86 million tourists.

Despite all the efforts of Russian and Turkish carriers, the volume of transportation (and, accordingly, the tourist flow) to Turkey both in the summer and now is about 10% less than a year earlier.

Tourists began to actively book New Year's Turkey. As of mid-September 2022, sales figures for New Year's tours from a number of tour operators are already several times higher than the figures for the same period last year.

The tour operator Anex Tour expands the options of offerings to the resorts of Egypt in the autumn season. In order to optimize transportation, the company proposed a rather unusual project - a joint tour with a route to Egypt through Antalya, which includes a holiday program in Hurghada or Sharm el-Sheikh plus two nights of holidays in Turkey.

Turkey has released statistics on tourist arrivals for the first 7 months of 2022. Russia in July again became the second after Germany, although the dynamics of the recovery of the Russian market has improved.

Europe Sun and beach Turkish airline Southwind is preparing to transport tourists to Antalya from at least five cities of Russia.

Turkish airlines Southwind (a new airline created for the Russian market) and Corendon Airlines may open new flight programs from Ufa to Antalya.

The tour operators state that in terms of the number of tourists, they sent to Turkey in June 2022, the decrease from June of pre-pandemic 2019 is still very significant.

The Russian market is in the third place in May in terms of the number of arrivals in Istanbul. The city has become a year-round destination this year, there are no sales declines typical for summer, all hotels are filled up to 90%, and sometimes even up to 100%.

From July 3 the tour operator Coral Travel has added three more Pegasus Airlines flights from Moscow to Izmir to the two existing ones. Thus, from the beginning of July, the frequency of flights increased to 5 per week.
