Russian tourist flow to Antalya increased in the first quarter of 2023
According to the statistics of the Antalya officials, the tourist flow to this province of Turkey sets records. If 515 304 foreigners arrived here in January-March 2022, then in the first three months of 2023 the number of arrivals increased by 55% - up to 797 920. The Russian tourist flow also set a record. Every third tourist in Antalya in January-March was from Russia.
In January-March 2023, 213 101 tourists from Russia visited the resorts of the Antalya province in Turkey. This is a historical record. In January, 71 752 Russians arrived here, in February – 60 322 and in March – 81 027.
In 2023, the tourist flow from Russia to Antalya in the first quarter increased by 56% compared to the pre-Covid period: in January-March 2019, 137 thousand Russians visited Antalya.
And compared to the same period in 2022, when there was a crisis of air traffic, the flow of tourists from the Russian Federation to Antalya in the first quarter of 2023 increased by 146% in annual terms. The March 2023 figure is five times up the March 2022 indicator.
Russia in Antalya in January-March 2023 has the first place in terms of the number of arrivals, Germany is in the second (169 228), and the British are in the third (88 572). Further (in descending order) are Poland, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Ukraine and Denmark.
Almost every third tourist in the first quarter of 2023 in Antalya was from Russia. According to the data, provided by the officials of Antalya, the percentage distribution of tourists among the TOP-5 markets of Antalya in January-March is as follows: Russia – 30,98%, Germany – 24,60%, Great Britain – 12,88%, Poland – 3,55% and Iran – 2,57%.
