Cuba will accept Russian tourists only with a negative test for COVID-19
From 2021, Cuba will allow Russian tourists to enter the country only after presenting a negative PCR test for coronavirus. This was announced by Juan Carlos Escalona, Tourism Advisor of the Embassy of the Republic in Moscow.
According to him, the epidemiological situation in Cuba has been rapidly deteriorating. In this regard, the authorities decided to introduce mandatory tests for COVID-19 for foreign tourists arriving in the country from January 1. Travelers will not be allowed to enter Cuba without a certificate. At the same time, this requirement is an addition to the existing measure: after crossing the border, passengers must be tested for coronavirus at the airport of arrival.
So far, the government has not formally approved the new decree. However, there is no doubt that from January 1, 2021, it will be mandatory for all foreigners. By the way, the Russians are in an advantageous position against citizens of other countries - the innovation will come into force for them only from January 15-th. So, Russian tourists, who have planned a vacation during the New Year holidays, should not worry.
The Adviser also added that so far there is no the list of medical institutions where you can take the test. Nevertheless, all the available information has already been sent to tour operators.
