The Tez Tour Masquerade - 2021: “Allowed in a mask only”.
The last difficult year did not break the tradition of spring events for travel agencies. An annual Tez Tour Masquerade for Russian travel agencies took place in Moscow on March 18.
About 500 travel manager from Moscow, St. Petersburg and central part of Russia were invited to the concert hall MIR with a must to wear a mask, a masquerade mask. The travel managers were obviously eager to visit the event, one of the first trade off-line event after the winter time. Official video greetings of Greek tourism minister Haris Theoharis and the minister of tourism of Cyprus Savvas Perdios were warmly welcomed by travel professionals. At the same time the guests doubted the soon opening of these travel destinations. Previously it was announced at the conference during MITT-2021 about the Greek border openings for tourists from May 14. The video message of Savvas Perdios at the Tez Tour masquerade included the announcement of the borders re-opening to all visitors from Russia as of April 1st.
The Tez Tour general manager Voskan Arzumanov and the executive manager of Tez Tour Greece Dimitris Haritidis stressed that Tez Tour was ready to start the flight program to any destination immediately. Dances, vines and singing were surrounded by the uneasy internal talks of travel professionals about canceled flights programs, backlogs and faltering hopes for the coming season.
In any case Tez Tour Masquerade gave some fresh air to the partners, strengthening their will to stay in the industry. So for sure the proactive policy on the travel market of Russia will be fruitful. The only open question is who is strong enough to wait a little bit more.
