What's really going on around the owner of Russian tour operators Anex and Intourist

On October 7, media reports the arrest of Anex Turizm Group owner Neshet Koçkar. His companies control the tour operators Anex and Intourist. However, the situation became clear soon.

Anex Turizm Group lawyers officially stated in the press that Neshet Koçkar had not been arrested and that the company and brand had no connection to the incident. In reality, it was not Neshet Koçkar, but his sister, Neše, who was brought to the police to testify during the investigation of questionable operations in Antalya tourism. And after giving explanations, she was released, not arrested or detained.

During a cryptocurrency investigation led by the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office, it was discovered that the name Anex was linked to the hotel owned by Adalı Otelcilik (part of the Anex Group), which had previously been purchased from Ismail Lepiev. Moreover, these financial transactions occurred prior to the hotel's sale. Ismail Lepiev is known as the owner of the Russian tour operator Brisco, which ceased operations in 2016.

Anex and Intourist are currently continuing their normal operations.
