The current year is going well for Mauritius on the Russian tourism market. Demand is steadily moving up, exceeding last year's values. For the period from January to October 2023, 11 778 citizens of the Russian Federation already visited Mauritius.

Two tour operators began selling tours to Mauritius on direct flights. In January-August 2023, almost 10 thousand Russian tourists have arrived on the island. This is 82% more than last year and, moreover, 39% more than in January-August of pre-Covid 2019.

The official channel of Aeroflot company informed on the possibility of booking tickets for the direct flight Moscow-Mauritius already in October. Tour operators believe that direct flights will provide a “surge” in sales volume of tours to the island of Mauritius. Previously, they reported on a high demand for such tours.

The tour operator Tez Tour announced the start of programs to Mauritius, which is still exotic for the Russian tourist market. The tour operator offers tours to Mauritius on regular flights.

In January-June 2023, 8 157 Russian tourists came to this tropical island: 83,2% more than for the same months in 2022 (4 453) and already 27,7% more than for the first half of pre-Covid 2019 (6 386).

"This year from January to October we have already hosted about 9 thousand Russian tourists at our island. This fact shows an increase of 21% against the same period of the last year.
