Direct flights to the island of Mauritius are opened for tourists from Russia

The official channel of Aeroflot company informed on the possibility of booking tickets for the direct flight Moscow-Mauritius already in October. Flights will be carried out on Boeing 777 airliners.

Tourists can use this offer twice a week – on Wednesday and Saturday since December of this year. Tour operators believe that direct flights will provide a “surge” in sales volume of tours to the island of Mauritius. Previously, they reported on a high demand for such tours.

According to statistics, in the first half of 2023, the number of Russians arriving in Mauritius was 9 175, which is higher than similar data for 2022 (by 82%) and 2019 (by 39%).

Fun&Sun and Pac Group predict high sales growth – up to 200%. At the same time, Anex and Pax believe that despite the obvious increase of demand for direct flights from Moscow to Mauritius, this destination will remain exotic. Anex noted that the innovation will bring more comfort to visitors of the island. In Russian Express made less optimistic forecasts about demand growth, announcing a small capacity of the route.
