Coral Travel adds El Alamein route
Russian tour operator Coral Travel has announced the launch of direct flights from Moscow to Egypt’s Mediterranean resort of El Alamein, operated by Air Cairo starting September 10, as it was reported to Interfax. The service will run twice weekly from Sheremetyevo Airport, with sales already open.
“We launched the flight program from Moscow to El Alamein on September 10 on Air Cairo flights. Sales opened last weekend, and we already see high interest from tourists in the destination, despite it being new to the Russian market,” said Marina Makarkova, Head of PR at Coral Travel.
The resort, located on Egypt’s northern coast, currently offers over 15,000 hotel rooms, including properties from international chains such as Rixos, Address, Vida, and Steigenberger. Flight time is 5 hours and 15 minutes, with tours available for 6–13 nights. Early bookings indicate travelers view El Alamein as a mild alternative to Turkey and the Red Sea resorts during the velvet season, with September sea temperatures at 28°C and air around 30°C, accompanied by a sea breeze.
According to Coral Travel’s booking system, prices for a 6-night tour for two starting September 10 begin at 131,500 RUB (approx. $1,430), including flights and 4* hotel with breakfast. A similar all-inclusive package is priced from 139,300 RUB (approx. $1,515).
As part of promotion, Coral Travel has launched familiarisation trips for travel agents, with departures on September 17–23 and September 24–30, priced at $680 per person, according to a trade mailing.
