Russians are actively interested in tours to Greece
Russian tourists are actively interested in tours to Greece after the news about the opening of the destination on May 14, but there has not yet been a surge in real bookings, tour operators reported.
According to the general director of the tour operator Tez Tour Voskan Arzumanov, tours to Greece are already in the sales system, they can be booked.
"There is a demand for Greece. The demand has grown after the minister's announcement of the opening on May 14. People want to go to Greece. Heraklion (Crete), Rhodes are booked now. These are direct flights. Compared to 2019, we do not plan to reduce the volume of the destination. Prices in rubles for holidays in Greece increased compared to last year, as the ruble fell against euro and dollar, and fuel prices have rose," he said.
The press service of the tour operator Intourist also said that early booking of tours to Greece for the summer is already opened on regular and charter flights of Russian and Greek air carriers.
The press service of the tour operator clarified that Russians book tours mainly for the summer. Intourist plans to transport tourists on charter flights of the Greek airline Ellinair since April 22. Flights are planned to Thessaloniki, Athens, Crete, Corfu, Zakynthos, Rhodes and Peloponnese.
The company Mouzenidis Travel also said that the flight program to Greece has already been planned, but not yet in full volume. Clients can already buy tours.
After lifting the restrictions, the demand is expected to be high. Demand has grown even now, but not significantly, since Russians are still afraid to buy tours abroad.
