Charters from which regions can fly to Dominicana

As Galina Lysenko, director of the representative office of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic in Russia, said, the country is opened for international tourism since July 1. In July-September 2020, more than 122 thousand foreign tourists have already visited the Dominican Republic - mainly they are guests from the USA and Canada. It is important that during this period no cases of coronavirus among foreign tourists were recorded at the resorts of the Dominican Republic.

As of the beginning of November, about 25 thousand hotel rooms were opened in the Dominican Republic, all airports in the country are operating. The activities of 16 hotels did not stop during the suspension of international tourism (from March to July).

According to Ms Lysenko, the government of the Dominican Republic has informed the Russian authorities about the situation with the coronavirus and the measures which have been taken to guarantee the safety of tourists. Thus, the general protocol on tourist safety measures has passed international certification and handed over to the Russian side.

“Work is underway to open borders with the Russian Federation and resume flights from Russian cities. The Russian Foreign Ministry knows what the Dominican authorities are doing for the safe stay of tourists. We hope that Russian tourism will return to the Dominican Republic this winter,” said Galina Lysenko.

According to the preliminary schedule of Russian tour operators, charter programs are planned from four cities - Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Yekaterinburg. In case of restoration of air service charters will fly to 4 regions of the Dominican Republic: Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, Samana and La Romana.
