Russians led among passengers of charter flights to the Dominican Republic in January and February

Russian tourists in January and February 2020 were in the first place in terms of the number of passengers arriving at the resorts of the Dominican Republic on charter flights.

“The Dominican Republic Civil Aviation Council has published the ten most popular charter routes for foreign tourists for the first two months of 2020. Seven of them connected the country with the European continent. The route with the largest number of passengers was the flight Moscow-La Romana, which delivered 18 970 people to the country. This route is followed by Moscow-Punta Cana, serving a total of 17 311 tourists,” the ministry of tourism informed.

In the third place is Zurich-Punta Cana (15 thousand tourists). The TOP-10 also includes flights from London, Manchester, Warsaw, Kiev, the cities of the USA and Canada.

Meanwhile, according to the ministry, the government of the Republic extended the state of emergency from May 1 for another 25 days. This mode cancels the possibility of opening borders and ports.

According to the country's Ministry of Health, 6,5 thousand confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the Dominican Republic today.
