30 thousand Russian tourists visited Jordan for the year
Over 30 thousand Russian tourists visited Jordan in 2019. This was reported by the ambassador of Russia in Jordan, Gleb Desyatnikov. He also emphasized that tourism is one of the ways to “consolidate” international relations serving the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
By the way, Jordan is also considered as a source market of inbound tourism in Russia. In Jordan, negotiations were held on the development of new tourist resorts in Jordan and Russia.
“At the first stage of negotiations we agreed that we would do all the necessary calculations in order to understand what kind of travel packages it is possible to offer to Russian and Jordanian tourists. Of the 10 000 000 people in Jordan, about 500 000 fly to Turkey every year to have a holiday. Over the past year, Russia was visited by no more than 5 000 inhabitants of Jordan, of which only 2 000 were tourists. We’ll have to make a lot of efforts to agree on all the details and launch direct flights between our countries, but work in this direction is already underway,” Gleb Desyatnikov said.
