Tour operators adjust flight programs to Spain
Due to restrictions on flights between Russia and Spain, tour operators are adjusting their flight programs to this country. The flights scheduled for March and April are canceled; tourists who have previously booked tours are offered alternative options.
Traditionally, the summer season in Spain begins in mid-May. The main summer Spanish tourist destinations are Catalonia and the island of Mallorca. In winter season (ending in late March), tour operators send tourists to the island of Tenerife. At the moment, these programs cannot be implemented. Now, transportation to Spain is possible only from Moscow to Madrid, as well as to Barcelona (with a gradual reduction in the number of flights).
Tour operators report about suspension of programs for the coming month. “The Tez Tour flight program on the boards of S7 Airlines to Spain on the route Moscow - Tenerife is canceled,” the company’s press service said. All plans of the Tez Tour flight programs to Spain for the summer season starting in May this year, with the exception of S7 flights, are still being maintained.
Pegas Touristik has also not yet canceled the summer flight program. At the same time, the tour operator does not exclude the possibility of its adjustment depending on the development of events.
Azur air planned to operate flights from Moscow to Barcelona in March and April; the other regional airline programs will start in May. “After the official statement on the restriction of flights between Spain and Russia since March 11, charter flights for the next month were canceled. In this case, tourists who purchased tour with a departure during this period are invited to re-book it to another destination or transfer dates. This is the most common solution. Now, tourists take a stand-by position. After normalization of the situation, we expect the effect of deferred demand,” the Anex Tour company said.
