The source told how quickly Russia will resume flights with other countries
As informed source, closed to the Federal Air Transport Agency said on September 11, the process of resuming flights between Russia and other states will be very long and phased due to the arrival of the second wave of COVID-19 in different regions of the world.
“The prevailing trend in this whole story now is the 'nightmare' of the new outbreaks of the epidemic abroad. For example, Cuba is being considered as a candidate for the near future, but due to the increase in the number of infections in Havana, this issue has not yet been fully resolved. In whole, the situation is changing dynamically, but, unfortunately, to the worse direction, primarily in relation to the European Union. So far, there is no need to wait for quick decisions on new countries,” he stressed.
In the foreseeable future, regular flights will resume to neighboring Belarus. The chance that this will happen already from October 1 is quite high. It became known at the beginning of September that the authorities of the states are preparing for the opening, but there is still no solution of the issue, which has been discussed for two months. Moreover, together with Minsk, the list of priorities, as before, includes Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
There is also a high probability of expanding quotas for flights to countries with which air traffic has already been restored, primarily to the United Arab Emirates, to which Aeroflot and Emirates Airlines began flights.
But, according to the expert, there will not be an early resumption of flights to the EU countries. It will be phased, according to the "Swiss principle", when "humanitarian" flights for residence permit holders become available for ordinary travelers.
