Russian tourists reopen the most popular country in Europe
Demand for the popular European destination has grown "many times" in defiance of the sanctions. Tour operators note an increase of demand for trips to Italy in the summer season 2023, both for sightseeing and beach tours. Although, of course, the country is far from pre-pandemic volumes, but present volumes have grown significantly.
According to travel market experts, depending on the destination and type of holiday, the number of bookings of Italy increased from 60% to several dozen times compared to last year.
Tour operators have also learned to cope with the lack of flights to Italy. They recommend tourists flights with connections in Istanbul, Dubai, Belgrade, as well as Yerevan and Baku. The most convenient connections are via Istanbul. The minimum travel time to Italy is up to 10 hours (taking into account connecting time) and the cost is from 809 Euros per person.
