Russian tour operators push forward Serbia
According to the results of three quarters of 2019, the number of Russian citizens who visited Serbia with tourist purposes increased by 36,7%. The region is becoming increasingly popular. From the number of federal tour operators new players are entering in the destination.
According to statistics from the border service of the Russian Federation, in the first three quarters of 2019, 53 453 Russian citizens entered the country with tourist purposes only, while for the same period in 2018 – 39 113.
Several Russian tour operators have been working in Serbia for a long time, and the number of players is now rapidly replenishing with leading companies at the federal level. For example, in December 2019, the tour operator Russian Express has opened the sale of package tours to Serbia.
Russia has direct flights with Serbia. So, Russian Express offers regular flights of Aeroflot and Air Serbia. Several flights fly from Moscow to Belgrade every day, in addition, you can always choose a flight with a change.
“Several factors contribute to the popularity of this destination among Russian tourists. In addition to the absence of visas, there is no language barrier - almost all residents speak Russian. Common religion, a short flight - all this facts favor the interest in the destination,” says Anna Filatovskaya, the director of the Advertising and PR Department of Russian Express.
According to her, in Serbia city tours to Belgrade and excursion programs are in great demand. Tours to Serbia are in demand all year round. Here the climate is milder than in central Russia. Sightseeing tours are comparable to similar programs in European countries - such as Romania, Italy, Spain. There are also wide opportunities for SPA tourism - due to the presence of many thermal springs in the country.
