More than 90% of Russian tourists already returned home
More than 90% of organized Russian tourists (about 83 thousand people) have already been returned by tour operators and airlines from abroad, according to Rostourism. There are still about 6,5 thousand vacationers outside of Russia, most of whom stayed in Egypt.
As noted in the organization, now work is underway on the return of even less than 6,5 thousand organized tourists. While waiting for return flights, tour operators provide accommodation in hotels, as well as other issues. Most Russian organized tourists are now in Egypt - about 4,3 thousand people.
The return process has become more complicated and takes longer than tour operators expected, due to new Western sanctions on aircraft that were planned to operate special flights from Egypt to Russia.
Also, tour operators continue to return home organized tourists every day, using connecting flights of foreign airlines through third countries. The day before, additional capacities were also connected. Flights with organized tourists have started from Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada to Sochi and Mineralnye Vody. There is also a planned number of flights from Egyptian resorts to Makhachkala. From these air harbors, tour operators will deliver tourists to their regions of residence.
