Israel is going to increase the number of tourists from Russia to 400 000 in 2019
Israel has set the goal of increasing the number of tourists from Russia to 400 000 in 2019, Vladimir Shklyar, the head of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism in the Russian Federation and the CIS, said. “Since the beginning of the year, the number of guests from Russia has grown by 4%, which is slightly less than from other countries. However, we are pleased that we have positive dynamics over several years. This year, 219 000 Russians have already arrived in Israel. Most of all Russian travelers come from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. The task that I set for my team is to exceed the level of 400 000 tourists. I think that we will achieve this," Vladimir Shklyar underlined.
In 2018, 89,6% of Russians were satisfied or very pleased with their visit to Israel. 59% of Russians visiting Israel are repeaters. At the same time, pilgrimage tourism among Russians is not so in demand, for this purpose only 6,6% of Russians visit the country, while the average figure from European countries is 18%. On average, according to Shklyar, tourists from Russia spend less than Europeans in Israel - $ 1,2 thousand against $ 1,4 thousand, respectively.
