Tourist flow from the Russian Federation to Israel grew by 5.6% in the first half of the year
The Israeli Ministry of Tourism has published statistics on visits of Russian citizens to the country in the first half of 2019. The dynamics of Russian arrivals is positive not only in the first half of the year, but also in the first month of summer.
According to the country's Ministry of Tourism, for the period from January to June 2019, 191,100 guests from Russia visited Israel, including day-trip tourists and cruise liner passengers. This is 5.6% more than in the same period in 2018. The first month of summer in Israel showed good statistics on arrivals of guests from Russia: 29,600 Russian citizens rested here. This is 2% more than in June last year.
Commenting the latest statistical data of Russian tourist traffic, the tourism advisor of the Israeli Embassy in Russia and the director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism office in the Russian Federation and the CIS Vladimir Shklyar noted that the tourist flow is also growing due to the diversity of the Israeli tourist product.
“Yes, the tourist flow to Israel is growing and this is not a surprise. We have something to offer tourists from Russia. These are four seas, and warm sunny weather all year round, and the absence of a language barrier and, of course, Jerusalem - the capital of Israel, the center of three monotheistic religions. We are constantly working to improve the infrastructure of the country so that tourists can feel themselves as comfortable as possible. Thus, in 2019, the new Ramon airport was opened in the south of Israel, and the construction of comfortable hotels is going on all over the country,” Mr. Shklyar added.
