Russian tourists more actively travel to Israel
The Israeli Ministry of Tourism reported on increase in tourist flow from Russia by 11% - and this is only in May. During this month, 39,800 tourists from the Russian Federation chose this country.
Since the beginning of 2019, from January to May, Israel has hosted 161,500 of Russian tourists. This is 6% more than last year's results. Russia is on the second position after the United States in the number of tourists in Israel.
Anna Rodimina, the head of Israel department of ICS Travel Group tour operator, confirms the growing interest for the country among the Russians and explains this by favorable prices for airline tickets and the availability of new routes: “Recently, there are more flight options with flexible prices - you can choose a ticket for any budget both on a scheduled flight and on a charter flight.”
The expert noted that the program of subsidizing charters this year ended later than usual - in early June. And the new one will last from September 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020.
This year tour operators will again receive € 60 for each seat sold on a charter flight. According to Anna Rodimina, during the special program period this amount is more profitable for organized tourists.
