In November charters loading to Zanzibar reach 85%

Despite the departure from the Tanzanian destination of the charters of two tour operators, the new player, Biblio-Globus has successfully occupied a niche and stimulates the growth of demand at low prices. Its charter flights are loaded well. The New Year holidays are also being sold better than last year. 
Almost 10 thousand Russians visited the country last year thanks to the charter flights of tour operators. This figure is almost 4 times higher than in 2017. This year is not so successful for the destination - first of all, due to the fact that charter transportation in the destination has been reduced. 
According to the FSB Border Service of Russia, for the first 9 months of 2019, 2 614 tourists from Russia came to Tanzania, whereas last year the country hosted 7 697 Russian tourists over the same period. 
Zanzibar began to gain popularity on the Russian market two years ago when the tour operator Pegas Touristik began selling tours to the island on the basis of charter flights of Nordwind air carrier. And last year, the tour operator Anex Tour began to offer tours to Zanzibar, formed on the basis of charter transportation. And experts say, tour operators did not reach the expected volumes and worked on the verge of profitability. 
This was probably the reason that for the upcoming winter season, both players decided not to arrange charters in Tanzania. “Today, tours are organized on the basis of regular flights. The flight program in the autumn / winter season 2019/20 is also presented on the basis of GDS tours. In our opinion, this program is enough for the current demand,” said the press service of the tour operator Anex Tour. 
Nevertheless, there is reason to believe that the winter season in Zanzibar will show good sales - thanks to the entry on the destination of a new leading player - Biblio-Globus. 
This year, Pegas Touristik and Anex Tour were replaced by the tour operator Biblio-Globus. The tour operator’s own flight program on boards of Rossia Airlines was launched on October 27 and will last until the end of March. Before the New Year 2020, the flights will be operated once a week, after - twice a week.
