Tourists will be able to fly to Zanzibar by charter flights all the winter
“Since the end of last week, Biblio-Globus tour operator began selling tours to the island of Zanzibar (Tanzania) on the basis of charter flights,” reported the company's CEO Irina Kostenko.
According to her, the own flight program on the boards of Rossia airline was launched for the first time and will last from the end of October to the last days of March. Before the New Year dates the flights will be operated once a week, after – twice a week. “It’s too early to draw conclusions, but the first bookings we already have,” Biblio-Globus comments.
Earlier it was reported that Coral Travel took a block of seats on two New Year flights of Oman Air airlines on the route Moscow - Muscat. According to observers, both tour operators will be able to achieve the necessary loading of boards – the demand is traditionally high during holidays.
At present time, the tour on the basis of charters is approximately identical by price to the regular flights – it is from 110 thousand Rubles (1,534 Euros) per week for two persons. However, the prices can drop due to competition, if Pegas Touristik, which sent tourists to Zanzibar until March of this year, decides to launch its own transportation. Director General of Pegas Anna Podgornaya said that at the moment the company has no such plans. “While our winter programs are still in the development stage, I cannot answer this question. Zanzibar is a rather demanded destination on the Russian market. Last year our flights were good loaded.”
Other destination players do not announce charter programs yet. As ANEX Tour (which acted as the customer of charter flights to Tanzania from January to March 2019) reports, the company plans to sell winter season’s tours on the basis of regular flights. “In our opinion, this program is sufficient for current demand,” the representative of tour operator explained.
