In comparison to other European destinations, tourist flow from Russia to Monaco fell only by 4%

Tourist flow from Russia to Monaco in 2014 decreased by 4%, the management of Monaco Tourist and Convention Center reported. So, if in 2013 the number of overnights of guests from Russia amounted to 66.3 thousand, then in 2014 the figure was 63.7 thousand. The representative of the Tourist Center pointed out that French Riviera only lost about 15% of Russian tourists in the last year. At the same time on certain destinations, decline reached 50%, due to the economic crisis.

According to the Director of Public Relations Department of Monaco Tourist and Convention Center Corinne Kiabski, the Russians are now on the fourth place in the number of tourists. "In the first place in the number of overnights are French people, the second and third places are taken by the Italians and the British. A fourth place hold by Russian citizens for last several years. This is largely due to the existing direct flights from Moscow to Nice, which is very popular among Russian tourists," Corinne Kiabski said at a meeting with Russian journalists.

She also noted that the average length of holidays in Monaco is 2-3 days. Tourists can stay in one of 14 hotels.
