Hungary has limited the number of visas issued to Russians
The Hungarian Consulate has decided to introduce restrictions for a number of tour operators on the number of visas issued to Russian tourists.
As the press secretary of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) Irina Tyurina said, the slots for a visa for independent tourists ended at the end of November.
Earlier it became known that the Hungarian Consulate has tightened the approach to checking documents for issuing visas, and also introduced limits on applications at the VFS Global visa center. This was due to the fact that some travel companies violated the accreditation and visa regime.
“This may be due to the fact that the Consulate is unable to cope with the increased volume of documents before the New Year. This already happened in August - almost immediately after the start of issuing tourist visas to Russians. The visa center explained this by a large number of applications,” said Irina Tyurina.
This year, the last time tourists can apply for a visa is December 16, and they can get it until December 23. Then the Consular department of Hungary will be on Christmas and New Year holidays.
