Cyprus will resume issuing tourist visas to Russians on March 1
On March 1 Cyprus will resume issuing tourist visas for citizens of the Russian Federation. It will be possible to issue visas online, Dimitris Dimitriou, tourism attaché of the Embassy of Cyprus in the Russian Federation reported.
"From March 1, Cyprus opens the borders for citizens from 56 countries, including Russia. So, the Republic resumes issuing tourist visas for Russians. It can be issued online. In addition, Cyprus cancels quarantine for all arriving foreigners," he said.
As Dimitriou recalled, from March 1, Cyprus will divide the countries of the world into three categories, depending on the coronavirus situation in them. Representatives of the countries of the "red category" will need a PCR test for entry (made no earlier than 72 hours before the trip) and another one upon arrival. Representatives from the "orange" zone will only need a test to enter. Tourists from countries of the "green category" do not need analyzes for entry. Tourists will have to undergo coronavirus tests at their own expense.
"Countries will shift between categories depending on their epidemiological status," he added.
In addition, all arrivals to Cyprus must register on the CyprusFlightPass electronic platform 24 hours prior to departure. According to the representative of the Ministry of Tourism of Cyprus, travelers who will have positive for coronavirus will be sent for treatment, and the government will cover the costs of living, food, drink and medicine.
Since December 22, Aeroflot has resumed flights to Larnaca, which are operated on Wednesdays and Sundays.
