Azerbaijan: a third of all tourists come from Russia
Russian tourists made up a third of all tourist visits in Azerbaijan. This was reported by the State Agency for Tourism of the country. According to the Agency, in general, the number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan from January to November increased by 11,1% and reached 2,9 million people. So, the total increase in inbound tourists amounted to 292 thousand people.
As for Russian tourists, compared with January-November last year, the number of Russian tourists increased by 49 thousand people or 6%. It should be noted that other markets are growing faster. Central Asia is the leader - here the growth is 46,7%. Then is South Asia with an increase of 38% and Georgia with 20,2%.
The number of tourists from Turkey and Iran increased by 8,3% and 3,7%, reaching 289 000 and 235 000, respectively.
