Tourist flow to Azerbaijan from Russia increased by 5,3% in 2019

According to the State Tourism Agency (GAT), in January-September 2019, 2 415 900 tourists visited Azerbaijan, which is 9,6% more than in the same period of the last year. At the same time, the largest shares of tourist flow are from Russia and Georgia.  In particular, in the reporting period, 724 730 Russians visited Azerbaijan (an increase of 5,3% compared to the 9 months of 2018).  By the number of tourists in Azerbaijan the TOP-5 also includes: the Middle East countries – 291 126 people (12,1% of the total flow), Turkey – 233 322 (9,7%), Iran – 197 535 people (8,2%).  At the same time, the number of tourists from the Middle East countries in the reporting period decreased by 6,4%, from Iran - by 4,9% and from Turkey - increased by 5,9%.
